CocoaHeads Nov 13: Intro to iPhone SDK

Michael Jurewitz, Apple's Developer and Performance Tools Evangelist, will present Introduction to iPhone Development at CocoaHeads Silicon Valley this Thursday, November 13 at 7:00pm. This meeting will be at Intuit (Quicken/QuickBooks) headquarters in Mountain View. Update: Here's a campus map with parking info.

Michael is graciously sharing some of his time with us between stops on Apple's iPhone Tech Talk World Tour, so we'd love to have everyone come out and show support for the group this Thursday night.

Our typical meeting places have been undergoing a number of rearrangements, so we're very thankful to Intuit offering to host us this month. This likely will not be our typical location in the future, but I'm personally always up for a field trip.

Inuit is located at 2535 Garcia Ave in Mountain View, and our location is the Darwin room in Building 1 (sorry for the lack of map here).

We're not allowed to record video or audio for this event, so if you want to see it, you have to come down in person. See you there.

Only if were in the US. I'm in the other side of the glope.
I thought Apple has lefted the strange NDA off!!. Unless you have some other reasons not to have it video recorded ?. kindly reconsider that, I would love to see it. I would send you my JVC cam corder if you want :).

I wonder if you have considered using meetup.com to organize your meeting locations. Especially if there are room size limitations. Using this we would also get notifications of any meeting changes. Just a thought.

It's not because of the NDA, and it's not because he's speaking about iPhone. It's sort of involved to explained, but in some cases we're only able to get guests like this if we don't record video. You might try to catch Michael during the Tech Talk world tour, though. :)

Scott,

Thanks for setting this up! It's been a while since we've met; you might want to announce this on cocoa-dev.

See you Thursday :-)

Joel

Is this open to anyone to attend?

@Link Nguyen: Is this open to anyone to attend?

Yes, anyone can attend any CocoaHeads meeting. There's no fee or pre-registration -- you can just show up.

I finally made it to something! I've meant to since getting back to the neighborhood earlier this year...

I didn't know much about the tools aside from my own tinkering, so I found it very informative. Thanks to all who put it on!

The Tech Talk for London was full up :(
A video would have been really useful!

All of the CocoaHeads folks understand that. We really like being able to provide video, but in this case it just wasn't an option. A lot of similar videos are available through the iPhone Developer Program, though.

Really glad to see you guys are back in action!

Look forward to seeing more videos in the future, or even making it out there on occasion. Thanks to you and everyone who makes it happen. You guys are great.
