Looks like a nice camera but with some obvious flaws (as you mention)
Why not consider something like the Panasonic TZ-5, which is iPod-sized, takes very good still pictures, shoots HD video, and has optical image stabilization (sorely lacking from your sample videos)? It's only about $100 more.
