Safari has both a DOM inspector and a JavaScript console, though I'm not sure how they compare to the Firefox versions. There's also an option to log JavaScript exceptions. All of this is done through the debug menu:

defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1

I agree, Firefox's incremental search is very nice.
