Both are in the store... one has rich data (which can potentially include things other than text), and one has plain text for searching.
I certainly understand the idea of it being inconvenient, but keep in mind that the idea is to make Core Data function the same across any type of store. Text searching in binary data may not work the same in all file formats. Not necessarily impossible, though.
